Band of the Week: Drab Majesty
This week’s featured artist is Drab Majesty, an LA-Based, 80’s new wave influenced band created on 2011 and led by Andrew Clinco, as his alter-ego - Deb Demure. Andrew created the project while he was the acting drummer of the band Marriages. The band released its first EP in 2012, called Unarian Dances. Drab Majesty has since signed with Dais Records and released two albums, Careless, in 2015 and The Demonstration in 2017.
Their sound combines heavy guitars, with new wave style synth and heavy percussion, creating a sound reminiscent of the 80’s, with modern, darker elements mixed in. Personally, I think it’s fantastic.
They are currently on tour and opening for The Smashing Pumpkins on a few dates of their current tour.
